Default BJ Penn Looking To Bounce Back, Wants To Fight As Soon And As Often As Possible

Source: BJ Penn.comFormer UFC Lightweight and Welterweight Champion BJ "The Prodigy" Penn finds himself in a position that he has never been in: he is again a contender in the lightweight division that he ruled over for two years and is coming off of two consecutive losses. "The Prodigy" issued a video via his website BJPenn.com immediately after the fight that was somber in tone and left some wondering if Penn was considering hanging up his gloves. That does not seem to be the case though, as Penn took to his website again to announce that he would stay true to his pre-fight promise of being as active as possible and is looking to get back into the cage right away.

"I'm gonna stick to what I said about being as active as I can," Penn said. "We're gonna try to contact the UFC and get a fight as soon as possible. Luckily I didn't get injured so I got no injuries. I still can build off what I built on the last camp. I didn't go out, I didn't party or anything. I'm gonna jump in the gym tomorrow and go full blast."

Some have criticized Penn's training camps for being inadequate due to the fact that they are held primarily in Hilo, Hawaii without many outside fighters or coaches being brought in to help. Penn alluded to this issue and indicated that alterations are being made in his camp and that he and his team are "still figuring that out."

Penn is undoubtedly still one of the best lightweight fighters on the planet and, at 31 years old, another run at the belt he once held is certainly not out of the question.
