Liberty City is New York. It's design is almost uncanny. It's also why there's no airplanes. 1.) They didn't want people to recreate 9/11 and, 2.) LC, just like NYC, has a no fly zone over the city.
I have to agree with Sithis, the fighting is great, but, that's because Bas Rutten helped make it. (Hence, why does Niko's stance look like Rutten's?)
I personally found it much more challenging then the last GTA. In GTA:SA, running and gunning was a perfect option. Not in this game, you have to take cover and fight accordingly.
I must say, the car mechanics are BULLSHIT. I can't stand driving on that game.
