Default Spicy, Anyone?

What's your favorite spicy food?
Do you like spicy foods?

Spicyist (grammar fail) thing I have ever had was 3 Habanero peppers dunked in chipotle mixed with Tabasco sauce with pepper on top. I ate all of the peppers with the sauce on it. I couldn't drink ANTHING for 3 hours straight. It was probably one of the worst dares EVER. I can still feel the burn on my tounge, from this day.

I was litterally choking and gasping for air it was so hot. It phlemed my throat up TERRIBLY. Any personal stories of what you have had with spicy foods?

My friends mom has this hot sauce, it comes in a prescription bottle and in order to get it you have to sign a waver.

Yea my friend put it on his bare tongue. He ran out of the house and shoved his head in the stream (About 20feet down hill from the house). He drank like a galleon of milk and ate bread with butter and he said it still burned the next day.

The waiver shit is usually for sales.

Here's a science breakdown for ya'll.
Spice is mainly due to a chemical called capsaicin.
The level of this stuff in spices is measured by what's called "Scoville Units." Check your spices, sometimes they'll say it.

Tobasco gets aged so the process is kind of individual, but tobasco is around 2500-5000 scoville units.

The hot sauces that I prefer and eat every meal are 1,000,000 scoville units.

To give you an idea of what 1,000,000 is on this scale. A general pepper spray I believe is about 2,000,000.

*heads up to the inexperienced, soda and water and such do NOT help get rid of the spice, it's a chemical, not heat. Throwing ice on your tongue is going to make things a lot worse. Bread and milk please.
(I believe it was Jay Mohr and the guys at Ron and Fez when they put hot sauce down East Side Daves ass crack. Normally, he would have been fine, but he tried to wash it out with water and had to go to the hospital or something)

Why is spice good for you?
Multiple reasons. First is taste perception/sensation. Putting hot sauce or various spices on foods actually helps the person to consume LESS food each sitting.

Hotter sauces have a tendency to speed up your metabolism. Thus helping you to break down food faster.

Good sauces will often have the tendency of also heating up your body, forcing you to sweat out. You know it's great when you start to feel yourself sweating out your eye cavities.

Fun Fact: Hot sauces tend to take longer to go bad. I think it's cuz the active chemicals can kill bacteria.

Yeah, I kind of carry hot sauce a lot of the places I go just cuz I love it on my food. (Also, throwing it in eyes is a cool defensive technique). I had a nail biting problem as a kid, so my parents thought putting hot sauce on my nails would condition and discourage me... to this day, I usually don't ever have nails on my hands. Also, I chug buffalo sauce. That shit just doesn't even do it for me anymore.

A habanero pepper with pepper on it and water. And then I told my friend to eat a jalapeno pepper and he didn't know that if you take out the seeds it's not hot at all haha.

The stuff is called, "Pure Cap" it is about 500,000 on scoville. Pepper spray varies a lot they are between 500,000 and 2,000,000. I had something else written but I realized I was looking at the wrong year.

Edit: Dairy products do actually help with the burning feeling.
