Question how can i stay calm and focused?

people say stay calm but is there any way to do this?
i got my ass kicked cuz i panicked and didnt think strait
so i need to learn how to stay calm any ideas?

You need your body to get used to the situation, so either you could street fight mroe which i do not recommend or you could join a boxing gym or whatever is in your area and spar. Cause through months of sparring you will learn how to not panick when being punched, you will be confident in your own abilities and will now the basics of how to defend yourself. Even though learning something will not always keep you safe, its better than knowing nothing. Also breathing is important, you may ask why well you die if you dont. Haha no but seriously some people hold there breath or hyperventilate. Also you need to choose what response you are taking fight or flight. Because if you stand there thinking about it you are wide opened to being attacked and you just stress yourself and you will probably hyperventalate.

i dont have a gym in my town so that sucks
but i will practise with my friend and hopefully that helps me a bit

It's all about remembering your training. Whether through sparring, practicing the moves loads, breathing, whatever.
Before you get into a fight just tell yourself to stay calm. Like DimiV said: breath. Think over your training. Don't be afraid to get hurt.

Just jam out, worst he can do is hurt you, no biggy. Just don't do what most do, which is as soon as the first shot is thrown, all the tension is released and the fight becomes a blur of meaningless punches, don't be afraid to move on the back foot after the first shot, back up rapidly out of range, then walk in and you're on your own terms.

But the fact remains, the only way to really become used to such a violent and intimidating pursuit as fighting. Is to practice, join a boxing club, or trade punches with your pals in a gym or garage, and you'll improve quickly.

keep distance with jabs.You will be able to think about the whole situation if you do this,and focus.Just pay attention for rushs and takedowns

In Forrest Griffins book he talks about how people need to be "in control" of situations and how teaching yourself to not always be in control can allow you to stay calm in chaotic situations such as fights. Heres an Example; when its raining outside most people will run for cover or put on there hoods to stay out of the rain. Subconsciously you try and get out of the rain because you feel like you cant control that situation because the rain is pouring on you. So if you go outside without a jacket and it rains, say fuck i dont need a hood lol. So if you can live without being in control all the time you can stay calm in crazier situations.
You have fear when you get into those situations and thats what cause you to react the way you did. Breathing exercise will help, you have to remember to breathe out with every punch or else you will get fatigued. Just remember to breathe, relax find your openings when you can.

As Polish said, it's all about breathing.

You can bet that most untrained opponents will hold their breath, thinking it will give them more power, or just because they're tense.

They will run out of breath very quickly.

I haven't been in many fights, but I know that staying calm is important, but you also have to give it your all.

You can't stay calm and just relax.
