| Best protein shakes?
My mum was watching some shitty tv show the other day that showed you basic crunces, pushups etc. Then they were saying that you should ave a protien shake when your finished exercising. Then she wanted to get me someprotein shakes. I have seen the at the supermarket in a premixed 250ml drink. Should i buy these, or buy protien powder, and mix it myself. I have been looking around the web and they all say that you put banana and shit like that with the powder. What do you guys drink after a workout?

Protein is protein, no matter what they tell you. Don't buy the mixed drinks as they are more expensive. Buy the powder in a bag or case and mix yourself. Find the cheapest price. Whey protein is the best. As long as you get the nutrients after a workout from a protein shake your muscles will grow back stronger and faster. That's all it is.
This is exactly what i have/take and my dad gets it for like $15-20 at Sam's Club. http://www.viladdia.com/gift-ideas/i...late-Shake.jpg |

I wouldn't buy one.
Just have like a nice blended drink of fresh fruits and vegetables. Put those protein pacts in 'em but it's just easier to buy the packs. I have never tried them (I have tried blended drinks of healthy foods) but I am not in no rush, too. Mostly because it's made up of the same stuff. Except it's not homemade and you don't see those ingredients in them.
They also have a lot of chemicals and body building stuff. Buy a protein bar, energy drink, or make a homemade drink consisting of fruits and vegetables (and anything else you like that is healthy)

I use Magnum Quattro, its pricier then the no-name "WHEY" type buckets but its better by a factor of 10.
just keep in mind this is a supplement your putting in yourself to have better gains, so:
1. better get a brand name company that you can trust, you will always get what you pay for.
2. more reputable and advanced protein companies have more engineering in their mixes, usually they have multiple sources of protein that digest at different speeds.
im sure if anyone here bought a WHEY bucket, a mid-range protein, and magnum quattro and then tried to tell which blended better and which gave faster, more concrete gains, it would be very easy to tell that Quattro is better.
ps: dont buy the premade ones they have shitty preservatives, and usually contain milk (meaning they go bad and some protein will go through your digestive system instead of staying in you!)
cheers

Thanks nate,
Do you think it is worth buying them?
I dont want to waste my money on something that is going to do very little.
Where can you buy Quatro?

Im not sure where its available where you live, but some GNC and Nutrition House locations have it and some dont, depending on the management I guess. Also other fitness shops, its a well known brand and Im sure its in demand so it shouldnt be too hard to find.
As to whether its worth it, what kind of training do you do and what do you want to get out of it? Protein shakes are amazing for weightlifting and heavy workouts, but less of a necessity for most sports and cardio for example.

This is what i do.
-Eat 3 servings of penut butter.
-Eat 1 can of tuna.
-Mix a protein shake with vanilla protein, berry juice, frozen berries, whipped creame,
And maybe a banana becuz it helps with soreness.
-Eat a protien full dinner. (meat)
-Raw egg whites if u have the stomach for it.( u can buy in a container)
i love this cuz i see big improvements in strength and size.
bench max since starting protien. from 145 to 255. in a year.
