Re: I'M QUITTING DRINKING POP ANY TIPS/POP SUBSTITUTES
Pure fruit juices; my favorites are mango, cranberry, orange (fresh squeezed is soo good), and if you can get interesting kinds from ethnic food stores like pomegranate/blackberry/black current those kinds are popular there, and cheap.
I made the pop switch two new years ago myself and it was a good choice. Don't get too caught up on the sugar in fruit juices; it is FRUCTOSE as opposed to what pop contains which is SUCROSE. Important distinction, sucrose is processed white sugar and fructose is naturally occurring in like every fruit anywhere.
Also fruit juice pretty much always gives you tons of vitamin C, and (depending what fruit) also Vitamin A, B vitamins, Iron, Potassium, and Anti-oxidants, along with a host of other benefits to your immune system and general health. These benefits are major, compared to if you were ONLY drinking water or gatorade.
POI; I used to mix juices with water to have flavor and health + pure hydration, it worked very well for me for both working out and sports/cardio.
BUT, do not drink EXCLUSIVELY fruit juices, you can end up feeling syrupy if your just loading cranberry juice every day and nothing else. Water and juice is the best.
