| FIGHTING WITH GLASSES
Well I don't wear glasses I got contacts but if I'm going to fight I like to have something on to increase my vision or else I might get rocked. But occasionally if I wear contacts and I get drilled it like get's moved around in my eyesockets but only for a very short time. It still kind of bothers me though (very slightly but still) but I want to know the risk of fighting with my glasses on I mean i could get punched real good and have them shatter n my eyes which would not be good. Also wouldn't it be kind of bad for bobbing and weaving? just wondering
-thanks

Do what you feel comfortable with. Thats the best answer you can get.

There's big danger in fighting with glasses. Glass shards in your eyes can limit or kill your eyesight for good. Then again, if you can't fight without them, you're fucked too.
Guess you should just avoid fighting alltogether.

Practice without your glasses or contacts. Shadow box for 10 minutes with your glasses and 10 minutes without or 20 minutes without glasses.
If a fight cannot be avoided at least you will feel comfortable fighting with blobs (only if your eyesight is as bad or worse than mine ).

The greatest Jiu Jitsu practioner I've ever seen was legally blind. He was insanely good, and taught me that jiu jitsu is far more about feeling then seeing. I'm more comfortable rolling with my eyes closed then having them open.
As far as stand up, I don't know. I can say I have above average eye sight (20/15 I think). But I think having glasses on can be very dangerous. Shards, the glasses breaking. Seems dangerous. But so does getting hit by a punch you literally don't see coming.

Your choice
I have always thought this question too. Don't fight with glasses, they can get knocked off, shatter, break etc. Then it all depends who is going to pay for the new ones.
Contacts would be the way to go. Or maybe think about eye surgery (if you're old enough) Practice with or without glasses, too. Just in case.
