|  why do people these days do dirty fighting?
When I was a little boy I was always told if you get in a fight your not supposed to fight dirty and it seemed like people didn't do dirty fighting.

I think it has a lot to do with whether or not you want to fight. I don't want to fight. If I'm forced, I try to end the fight as quickly as I possibly can in my favor. My "good sportsmanship" goes into avoiding the fight if at all possible. Once I'm attacked, my kindness and concern for the other person has been exhausted.
On the other hand, some people like to have fights that are really just analogues to comparing penis size. They're too shy to whip it out, but not competitive enough to want to kill each other, so they have some implied rules.

I bet in some places as a little boy people were told its okay to fight to dirty.
It just depends on whos around you and telling you what.
And of course different people have different ideas of morals, to some dirty fighting is fine, to others its not.

Personally I think growing up makes the change. When you are a small child you fight fair but you haven't really seen how humanity is. You are innocent as a child and think the world is amazing. As you grow up you see the world for a fucked up place and your life is just a battle of attrition that you are losing week by week. True some people remain warm the world and think it is inherently good and those people still fight fairly. To the rest of the world everything is do or die and when it comes to do or die the only rule is survival.

Fighting dirty has to deal with the natural human instinct. Back in the days before martial arts, humans were brutes, and did anything possible to win a fight. It was more "Alpha-Male" or defending, but, it all boiled down to just being as brutish and destructive as possible.
I think that eventually became a natural human trait, and in times of crisis, or "Fight or Flight" response, that dormante trait is awake/unleashed/whatever, and that's when some people fight dirty.
Unless you're just an asshole and choose to fight dirty. That's a different story.

When i was a kid and i would mess around fighting my dad kept telling me that you should only fight with fists, no kicking,headbutt etc.
Now i realise that the person i am fighting is going to try as hard as he can to hurt me. Since i started training i havent been in a fight, but if i do, and feel like im gonna get beeten, i would do hits to the groin, jabs to throat etc.
If someone is that much of a dick that they wanna hurt me, I am gonna do whatever it takes to stop them, even if it meens fighting dirty.
