Well, that is interesting idea. My dad is a physicist. Perhaps I'll ask him about this next time I see him (most likely in 2 weeks or so)

Heres the answer over simplest form: Speed always beats Power, and not just speed by itself, Speed cannot work if you dont have the Accuracy

I bet it will be very difficult to model, though. It would probably vary significantly depending on what your whole body was doing. Do you count the mass of just the hand, the hand and arm, the whole body? What about the force of the contracting muscles?
I'll be very interested to hear a professional take!

If bringing in the defensive side, then yes, I agree speed is more important, what with the philosophy that a martial art doesn't mean hurting the other person but preventing damage to yourself.

It has been so long since I studied Physics, I get confused sometimes about which is potential energy, kinetic energy, momentum, power, velocity, sine, cosine, tangent, etc., et., etc. But it sounds like maybe that's where you're coming from.
