Default Best Place to Punch Someone?

I'm not planning on punching someone and I'd never punch somebody first, I'd only fight with self defence but where actually is the best place to punch someone? Is it the chin? Is it the jaw? Is it the nose? I'd really like to know.

I know the obvious places like the throat/temple (I'm not looking into anything deadly like that).

Comment below on what you think are the best places to punch someone in the face and where you would if you were in a fight.

Thanks.

Edit: Also, I have another problem. I got into a fight a couple of months ago and now my pinky knuckle has kind of been pushed in... it's gone. It hurt pretty bad but I ignored it (you might think it's silly and I know I should have seen a doctor but I didn't). Anyway, the knuckle next to my pinky is one of my biggest knuckles and it is much bigger thann my pinky knuckle now obviously since my pinky knuckle has disappeared. Will I still have decent impact even though the pinky knuckle has now gone? Should I continue punching with the last 2 knuckles or should I start punching with the first 2?

I don't like punching with the first 2 as I find it uncomfortable and I'd rather punch with the last 2 (my pinky knuckle no longer hurts but it's pretty much gone so I'm just wondering would it hurt the opponent even though my pinky knuckle has gone and the knuckle next to the pinky is much bigger).

Should I just punch with the first 2 even though it's uncomfortable for me? I could get used to it eventually. First 2 are apparently the strongest knuckles.

The pinki and ring fingers are prone to breaking due to their alignment. Land with the first two knuckles to prevent injuring your hand. IF your knuckle is gone you've fucked it up pretty badly. See a Doctor to ensure it doesn't create permanent damage.

Next time, use the search function to search for common things you might be looking for.
Oh and aim at their face, preferably their jaw bone, nose, or temple.

hitting the jaw can hurt your hand though, the jaw is basically a bone shaped as a freakin' triangle - ouch.

go for the liver, softer target - good damage.

You hit where you can. If he leaves his face open to an attack, go for his face. If he leaves his groin or legs open to an attack, hit him there. You hit where you can. You find his weak points, and you exploit them. And when you do hit him, it does wonders to hit hard. Hit with a proper fist, kick with a perfect form. Do not ever kick above the waist in a fight. In Sanda, you learn to scan an opponent for weakness, for vulnerable places that you can use to win the fight. So, scan your opponent. Find where to hit. Hit hard, hit fast.

The same punch to a guys face will break his collar bone. Let me go find a picture of good target areas and I'll edit it in.

As far as the face the chin/nose/temples if you can hit that (with your middle knuckle protruding...nasty strike). Basically the only place you don't wanna hit is the forehead - that's the hardest part on someone's face.

Okay so everyone says punch with the first two knuckles - that's almost always good advice. However...there are some martial arts that teach you to hit with all knuckles, which could work if you have trained hands and a tight fist.

Usually though, you'd hit with the first two knuckles anyway if you punch correctly in a generally straight line since they stick out the most, and yes they're the least prone to injury. Good luck...

The chin, straight on. The video is also quite good for a ring fight, but keeping hands close to your face in a street fight (remember no gloves) is a bad choice.
