Default How the hell....?

Alrighty guys, here's a little WTF story I wanted to share.

Now, as I have mentioned before, I'm a big guy. 6'4, 195 pounds. But for some reason, I've noticed my bench press is always substantially less than other people my size.

I stopped weight lifting for a while (when I moved) and arouned that time I had a 130 bench press.

Since then, the only Gym-Style exercising i've done is treadmill and punching bag.

But today, I just finished a set on the bag, and I decided 'Let's try out the bench press, see how bad it's gotten'

I benched 180 pounds.

50 damn pounds more than I could without any chest exercies for over 6 months.

WTF?!?!

I'm working in a Food Bank. Basically all I'm doing is unloading crates of Kraft Dinner.

How much do the crates usually weigh? That could be one of the factors of you being able to lift 50lbs.

could be a lot of different factors.. maybe you had bad form then and now your form is better... along with just getting stronger as you grow..

i had something similar happen i was struggeling with my sets for a long time, and i got off track and stopped working out for a couple of weeks and when i came back i could easily do it, and my dad said that if you work out to much your muscles dont have time to grow so they never devolep if you go to often, thats why you lift every other day so your muscles can devolp and have rest time.
