| what's better?
Is it better to have amazing hands like lets say melvin manhoef but know how to kick. Or have amazing kicks but know how to box like lets say cro cop?

Hands seem much more dominant because of the balance and power, kicks are great but can sacrifice balance. Maybe someone like Cro Cop is good, because he can handle them in close with the hands and to finish the combo when the guy moves away, he has the tremendous kicking power.

well if you balanced them out it would be good. Kicks could keep them at bay but if you had mad hands if you got in close you could really rock them. Punches can be thrown for anywhere where as kicks you have to set up. Punches can be turned into throws if your opponent is good enough. but kicks can too. It's a very hard topic I agree.

Hands have more combos if you wish to use them in a street fight.
Those crazy kicks you see in Tae Kwon Do should only be used in tournaments. Some of which they use, side kick, front kick, back kick, all the regular kicks, are great for a fight. JUST DON'T GET TOO FANCY!
Good thing with kicks is they are good for setting up your opponent (maybe even for another deadly blow, or a knockout shot) They are stronger and they go for longer range than punches. Kicks, you can telegraph, though. It's harder to hit a CERTAIN spot, like someones neck or jaw, (that's why you should never kick abouve someones waist -not only will it not do good damage, but they can catch your kick-) and kicks can sometimes make you off balance.
Punches, they are the most COMMON to knock people out, to do more damage to the face (as kicks, they are easier to dodge) I am not saying kicks dont do a lot of damage, because they do. Punches are just not only harder to telegraph, but they are faster and can sometimes hurt more (depending on the puncher, the speed, and the power)
I would want better hands than kicks. Thats just my style that I prefer.
