Default Hardening your body parts?

I`m interested how do you guys harden your shins, knuckles and most important your abs. I`ve been doing pushups on my fists, and well i`ve noticed the difference... As for the shins i`ve read that hitting them with something firm will help... Yet i dont know anything that would toughen my abs except for crunches.
Was anyone thinking about that at all?

As for knuckles, hitting the bag without any protection a few rounds conditions them to take the abuse. Im not sure about shins, but leg lifts and situps will obviously get your abs harder. Im curious about wrists though.....

for shins there are a lot of methods... but the best one is kicking the heavybag (thai bags which are the hardest) i do 100 kicks each leg when i train, u could start with 40 and if it hurts u can kick it a little bit lighter, is normal to have bruises all over ur shin the first days juz ice them and keep kicking the next day

Thanks for the tips!

I`ve just read that for hardening your abs a good method is to have someone drop a med ball on your abs after each rep you make of lets say crunches or any other abdominal exercise...
Wonder if it helps

Hey Bash,

Yep, I was just going to post about the medicine ball. I just posted on another thread, someone was asking about getting a body type made for taking hits. There are a ton of exercises with the medicine ball, that are great for ab conditioning. I will edit this post later, linking to that thread. EDIT:

After this minute, drop the ball and lay on top of it with your stomach. Lift your feet up off of the ground, and roll around again on all points of your body. Next find a partner, stand about 6 feet apart and throw it into eachother stomachs -- rather hard. Exhale when it hits you, and let it drop to the ground, don't cheat. Pick it up and throw it into your partners stomach.

This is a good core conditioning workout. Sparring is also good, as well as just hitting the heavybag. Hope this helps.

There are a lot of stuff written about shin conditioning, but its just like everything else: just keep working at it. Keep kicking a fully packed and firm heavy bag, like daeron said. Also you can light spar without shin gaurds, focusing on leg kicks and checking kicks. After all, you will be kicking and blocking in a fight, not rolling a glass bottle up and down your shin, so get used to what your training for.

Knuckle pushups are a favorite among many. My old gym would stress knuckle pushups, insisting it helps pack a heavier, more compact punch.

Dont hit your knuckles and shins with anything other than a bag or pads
Wear gloves
Wrap up

As for the abs, do situps, have somebody YOUR WEIGHT walk on your stomach, and train to take shots with gloves/shinpads to your torso - but don't go 100%

You need to get a medicine ball and lay down and throw the ball up and let it drop on your abs. Also if you have a training partner have them throw it at your abs lying or standing. Catch the ball as it hits you not before of course. Clinch your abs as the ball hits.
Also knuckle push ups are good biting the bag no gloves also good for hand hardening but you're tonne wanna cover your knuckles with like a rag or something if you're not trying to cut yourself. Also try punch the ground slapping water like the monks do or find a dead tree with no bark work elbows too. Hitting your shins with a stick will help but you just lightly beat your legs it shouldn't hurt enough to sat ouch, but the best thing for legs is kicking a heavy bag. Hopefully that helped you.
