how do you earn expertise. i know how people give you expertise but under your person it says expertise earned and then it says expertise given

You know how people give expertise, but you don't know how people get it?

I'm not sure I understand the problem, but if there's an in-depth explanatory post with good advice and someone recognizes that as good advice, other people will click the golden box at the bottom right of the post that says "EXPERT!" Then, whoever clicked that, their name appears under that post. That means that persons name adds 1 to their "Expertise Given" and the person whose post it was adds 1 to their "Expertise Earned"

You earn it when people give it. So far, you've given 4. Each of those people now earned expertise because of it.
