The Guy who won got a good punch do the Jaw but everytime he kicked his hands went down and didnt seem very balanced to me

I don't know if it was a "looking cool" thing, Sithis, although it's definitely a possibility. I think he was just nervous, and tried to keep him at bay with his leading limb. Everytime the guy stepped in, he threw the lead body kick. Even though it didn't do damage, it kept the guy guessing. And in the end, he came out victorious.
