I was about to say the same thing...why would knives be illegal if you can own a gun in any state?...In texas the length limit was 4.5 inches, and in hawaii, there is no blade limit as long as it is single edged and is used for "boar hunting" or "fishing". Like I've said before I carry one every day that is 2.5 inches in length.

The only national law for it is that it cannot be doubled edged.

In FL, you can have a "common pocket knife" which is generally defined as having a blade that is less than 4in. I'm not sure if it needs to be folding or not.

I carry a pocket knife with me at all times. I don't know, I just don't feel safe without the blade in my pocket. A knife, in the hands of a trained individual, is an incredibly deadly weapon. Between severing ligaments and tendons, slashing through skin, cutting into major arteries and veins, there is very little a knife is not able to do in terms of self defense. It's a very versatile weapon, useful in just about any situation.
