Yeah, thanks for all the input guys. To Showkiazer: I meant that i know a couple more variations of knife defenses and some baton defenses.
To samuraiprotocol and tylereast: Yeah, theres some problems with this defense. I agree that the best thing is to just run. But say, hypothetically, you were backed into a dead end alley or something. I dont see how something like this could happen, but hey, better safe than sorry, right? And after you grab the wrist, youre supposed to initiate the takedown and disarm immediately. But, this is just one variation, and theres lot of other things you could do in this situation. I agree about not kneeling if there are multiple attackers, but this isnt supposed to be exact, The way my sensei explained it is like this... This isnt supposed to be exactly what you do in this kind of situation, its something you practice over and over until it becomes 2nd nature. Then when the time comes to use it, the moves are just reflexive, and you take the original technique, apply it to the situation, then adapt it to your needs. You get what im saying, right?
