I'm quite good at nunchucks, and now I can hit objects and control the recoil so I won't get hit now.

The biggest shortcoming with nunchucks are that you cannot block strongly, as nunchucks are basically two small columns joined together buy a chain.

Things like baseball bats and powerful weapons you will need to learn how to evade and quickly counter-attack and against knives you will need to maintain the medium distances which bring out the best of a nunchuck.

Another shortcoming is that you need a bit of space to use them properly and in places with lots of furniture or narrow hallways it could present you a problem.

Some people might say that nunchakus are bad in very close ranges, simply hold the two ends together and utilize the nunchaku as a baton or if someone tries to take you down, hold both tops of the nunchaku (near the connection) and basically stab downwards with both ends.

The nunchuck is tricky, so even a proficient person might hit himself while using the nunchuck. It is dangerous to people who have slow reflexes though. I don't like the weapon personally because it has many flaws.

Personally, I think that Nunchucks' are the users bane. Sure they're flashy, but I don't trust a "weapon" that could very well hit me back after I hit someone with them.

Nun chucks are extremely hard to use but in the right hands they can be very lethal (even to the person wielding it)
They have multiple uses though an advanced nun chuck user can disarm a opponent,choke them,or swing it at a person,etc.
Overall though,I really don't think they are that useful unless you are very committed to learning how to use them but still against multiple enemy's I would never use a nun chuck only in movies

At the end of the day nunchucks are two thick chunks of wood.
They can be as effective as any wooden stick in combat and skill isn't all that neccesary (unless you're a complete prat who's showing off in the middle of being assaulted).

i had nunchucks once until i broke them
they have heaps of power, but if you use them be prepared to whack urself in your arm/hand, fractured my thumb just after i got them
